In our previous article, we explained how Provably Fair technology allows each player to personally verify the fairness of each round. Today, we will delve deeper into the basics and explain how blockchain creates a new level of trust and transparency in iGaming and what the WGCO logging token has to do with it.
To understand the magic of provably fair, let's take a look at the three pillars on which it rests.
All the information in the blockchain is stored in a chain of blocks — like beads in a necklace. Each block includes a bunch of game actions: round starts, bet placement, game finish, etc. New blocks are added one after another in order, and once something is written, it can’t be changed. That’s what makes the history of events permanent and trustworthy.
Now, let’s talk about hashes. A hash is like a digital fingerprint of data.
We use a special formula (SHA-256) that turns any piece of information — for example, the game's hidden outcome — into a unique code called a hash.
Here’s why hashes matter:
Same input = same hash every time.
You can’t reverse a hash to see the original data.
Even a tiny change in the original completely changes the hash.
This is how FairControl works:
Before the game begins, we generate the result and publish its hash. That way, players know the result is already locked in — but without revealing it just yet.
Only after the round ends do we show the original result, and anyone can check that its hash matches the one we posted earlier.
In short: we commit to the outcome in advance, and the hash makes sure we can’t cheat or change it later.
That’s what keeps the game fair.
Security in Web3Originals is not guaranteed just by a protected server. Our architecture is web3 native and translates the basic fundamentals of the blockchain ecosystem.
Cryptography. All transactions and data (such as fairControlHash) are protected by cryptographic algorithms. Falsifying them is as difficult as breaking into a modern bank vault.
Immutability. Once a block of transactions is confirmed by the network and added to the chain, it becomes impossible to delete or change it. Your bet, as well as the result of the round, is carved in digital stone. This ensures that the history of the game cannot be rewritten.
Consensus. The network reaches an “agreement” (consensus) on which transactions are valid. This mechanism prevents fraud, such as double spending, and provides a single, universally accepted version of the truth.
All bets in our games are made using the WGCO game token. This is no accident, but a key element of our philosophy.
WGCO (Web3Originals Game Coin) is a digital asset issued on the blockchain that performs several critical functions.
Important: WGCO is an in-game multi-functional token that is not a cryptocurrency. It cannot be used outside the Web3Originals ecosystem.
In allour games, the player's balance is converted and displayed in WGCO at a fixed rate of 1 WGCO = 1 USD. This rate is set centrally and is not the result of market pricing or volatility characteristic of cryptocurrencies.
The traditional iGaming model is based on centralized trust. You trust licenses, you trust auditor reports, you trust the reputation of a well-known company. Web3Originals offers a paradigm of decentralized, technological trust.
We are moving away from the age-old question “Can I trust this provider?” to the direct statement “I trust because I can verify.” This is a fundamental shift in focus for both: the operators' platforms and the players.
